The Current Issue

Today, we would like to clearly explain an issue regarding Pocket S Mini.

At the project planning stage, Pocket S Mini was designed to be equipped with a 6000mAh high-capacity battery. During the early stages of development, as is common practice, the team used non-final battery samples for rapid testing. At that time, the supplier provided a 4700mAh test battery, based on an existing cell solution, which allowed for faster testing and helped accelerate the development process.

The original plan was that once development was completed, mass production orders would be placed uniformly with 6000mAh batteries.

However, due to a breakdown in supply chain communication, mass production was ultimately carried out using the 4700mAh battery.

Why Was This Not Discovered Earlier?

Pocket S Mini was originally scheduled to be announced in March and enter mass production in April. As development progressed smoothly, we hoped to make the product available to gamers as early as possible before the Chinese New Year and to ship orders before the holiday. As a result, the mass production and shipping schedule was brought forward.

The production batteries were delivered directly to the factory and put into manufacturing, enabling shipments to begin within the same week. Because the battery capacity displayed in the system was 4700mAh, and the development test units had also used 4700mAh batteries, our team initially believed the system information had simply not yet been updated.

It was only when the R&D engineers prepared to update the system and noticed that the mass-produced units still showed 4700mAh that we disassembled the device and checked the battery label—at which point the issue was confirmed.

We extend our most sincere apologies to all gamers who have followed and supported AYANEO Pocket S Mini. This was neither a compromise on our product standards nor a disregard for gamer trust, but a serious failure in information synchronization and execution management.

Considered Solutions

During internal discussions, we carefully evaluated two possible approaches:

Ship the product with the current battery configuration and compensate users for the battery capacity difference.

Reorder customized 6000mAh batteries for mass production after the holiday. However, due to the need for new cell customization, the battery lead time would be approximately three months, potentially delaying overall delivery until Q3 2026.

After thorough consideration, we concluded that the first option lacked sufficient sincerity and experience value, while the second would impose an excessively long waiting period on gamers. Neither option was suitable as a final solution.
